| Bio: | I'm twenty-two years old, female, diabetic, suffering from depression, social phobia and panic disorder. I am nearsighted, overweight and selectively sexual. I like fantasy, science fiction, roleplaying, staying up to all hours talking with friends, roleplaying, comics and roleplaying. I am very much a geek. I'm trying my hand at writing an urban fantasy; my journal will probably make reference to this with some frequency.
My legal name is Penelope. I have your typical early-twenties angst, but am attempting to not post wholly angsty entries.
I talk to the people in my head. Perhaps this is why people don't sit next to me on trains.
I'm currently living in Sydney, where I have lived since I was six years old, after moving from Quirindi, which is near Tamworth. I'm soft-spoken, and am often mistaken for a Brit or an ex-pat American. I have no idea why, unless it's because I tend to have a rather precise manner of speaking.
I have a brother with Asperger's Syndrome, so making unkind remarks about retards, tards or whatever slur you prefer will not go down well. Likewise with insulting the mentally ill, as both my parents were psych nurses, as well as my own numerous psychological issues. I probably will lose respect for you if you badmouth mentally ill or mentally disabled people in my presence. This may or may not mean much to you. There are also a few people and a few circumstances which are exempt from this, but these are not numerous.
I was raised Catholic, underwent a period of agnosticism, and am looking at returning to the Church.
Some of my entries are friends-locked, some aren't, depending on the sensitivity of whatever it is I'm writing, or how comfortable I feel about certain people and random strangers knowing certain things. If you friend me, generally I'll (eventually) check out your journal and friend you back if you seem interesting. If I cut you from my list, it doesn't mean I don't like you, it just means my list got too big and needs pruning.
